So I'm totally making a vampire one shot now! Har har. I have already decided some points of plot. One of the characters has 3 willpower, and so is totally going to be used as some political shenanigan dude to kill an ambassador to some other supernatural entity. (As you can tell, I have totally thought up lots of plot for this so far.)
Week 4. Dollhouse still lame and aggravating.
Year 4, Week 18. Lee still awesomely hot. Go Apollo go! Wed, Feb. 18th, 2009, 07:32 pm
So one of my characters is reading a science fiction novel, and I imagine this sci-fi as being very 50s-and-earlier, and it's called STAR CAPTAINS III: REVENGE OF THE DEATH QUEEN. And I had to self-censor, because the character was about to say (on being asked how the book was): "Oh, you know, the usual: a dashing young prince in distress and Star Captain Munroe dashes in at the last minute to save him with his suction gun." I don't even know what a suction gun is, but it sounds dirty. Wed, Jan. 21st, 2009, 06:29 pm omgyay!
So I could be going on about the niggling annoyances, and not feeling quite so good all round at the moment, and my laptop being partially broken, but instead, I shall say only this: I got an offer from Norwich to teach. Norwich, here I come! Norwich students beware! Requiem, beware, I shall join you! Come June I am so there. YAY!

Reasons to feel awesome:
I have written about 12,500 words of my book in a week. I am not signed up to NaNoWriMo, nor MiniNano, because I didn't want to stress myself in trying to keep up to the word quote, but in the spirit of the season I wanted to see what I could do. (Yesterday I wrote about 6,000 of those words. An entire chapter!) Not only that, I think it's actually rather good. I have finally figured out how to stop my Eee's firefox from having to be browsed with the cursor, rather than just pressing on the up or down arrows. I know, it's lame, but it's been bothering me ever since I got it and I only just discovered there was a setting that could do that. My cakes have become Gamesoc Famous. People actually like me. My state voted democrat, a president that I care about has just been elected, and I have shucked the shackles of It Will Never Work Political Apathy in exchange for Yes We Can. Apathetic Cynics may call me a sheep but it feels better than not caring and it feels better than thinking everything is, and will always be, crummy. I just watched the new Supernatural episode and it was fun, enjoyable, had Nightmares!RememberingHell!HeavyDrinking!D ean, and WTFBeHonestWithMe!Sam and was very pretty. I just heard the awesomest awesomest Muse B-sides that I hadn't heard before. They make me smile and laugh. I am no longer on anti-depressants. I don't feel that I need them. This may or may not be true but I think that it is true. Why I could be feeling less awesome:
Unfortunately the damage is done; my anti-depressants gave me terrible scalp dryness and dandruff and it is ANNOYING. I also am still on anti-anxiety meds. I have yet to sort out my life. There is a lot to do. Proposition 8. For a few months I thought I could have my lifelong dream of getting married in LA. Not to be now; back to normal. My burn (from cake-baking) itches and is yucky. I still feel pretty good, though. Things are going to be okay.

Awesome google meme stolen shamelessly. Type in your name: "____ likes to" and post results. fay likes to eat souflleI'm not entirely sure what souflle is. I certainly don't like to misspell souffle in my spare time. Fay likes to be provocativeAccording to Kate Figes. fay...likes tO:. take pics.edit pics.chat.watch taiwan & korean series.play.laugh.listen to music.sing.draw.paint.shop.eat.sleep.Wow, this person has got me down well, except for the taiwanese and korean series. Do I have a crazy internet stalker?? Fay likes to call them, hold beneath fallen cottonwoods and... I don't understand what this is about, but it is from a fly-fishing website. LAME. Fay likes to rock the boat. Proverbially, of course. The name of a pretentious-looking teenage girl's blog, who seems to act like she knows everything there is to know already. Fay likes to move it, move itNo I don't! Fay likes to move it, move itYeah, twice in a row. Nice. Fay likes to run a tight ship, so watch out! State-of-the-art computers are used for image analysis and more! Without the second sentence, I can pretend this person knows about my rabid Hornblower fantasies. Tight ship, indeed. Fay likes to e njoy champagneThis is from an intriguing site called 'Is Fay Gay'. Now, I understand why there might be confusion, with the girlfriend and all. Fay likes to pee his bed. I'll post a picture of this nerd soon
So if I'm peeing in HIS bed, who the hell is HE?

SQUEE.
"I can has" Star Wars audio books now. OMGYAY.
They're rather bad quality and I'm still going to buy the first one on tape because it'll be better, and I'm looking forward to the insane nostalgia trip, but so, so good.

Meme time! 1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your favorite song. 2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions (ostensibly so I can get to know you better, most likely for the amoeba-like growth of this meme). 3. Update your LJ with the answers to these questions. 4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post. 5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions. From jczech 1.) You've survived the Apocalypse; so have Gordon Brown, George Bush and Scarlett Johansson. For no adequately explored reason, there's only enough food for one of them to survive. Who is it? Do you repopulate the Earth, and at what cost?Hmm. I'd keep Scarlett Johansen alive, and gossip with her about Jared Leto! 2.) Ok, I want a song too. Link me to a song you can't live without which you think I'll like.
Link to a song? Er...I guess I'll use youtube... This.
It's from the Fountain, which is one of the awesomest movies ever. And even the music is enough to make me spaz out! 3.) Fandom! Which of your ships is clearly the truest and most canon?Oh god, now I have to go through every ship in my head... Without a doubt, Archie Kennedy/Horatio Hornblower. Come on, people! (Even my slashophobic friend Michelle admitted it...) 4.) Why did you choose your uni/course?Because nowhere else would take me! Okay, that's not entirely true: only one other place would, and I wanted a Masters rather than a Bachelors. 5.) What is the most important thing (not person) in your life?
My writing, or my computers. It's a tough, tough choice.

omg. Yay Supernatural season 3 premiere! Settling in, in Southampton. And watching Angel season 5 (when not practising viola, or watching said supernatural). Ahhh. Let's enjoy this weekend whilst we can, people: LAST WEEKEND FREE.

Hoo boy, posting in m'journal? Egads. Something's wrong with the world! I just wanted to take the chance to put in public writing that, y'know, MY BODY IS NOT COMPETING IN THE "MOST TIMES ILL IN A YEAR" AWARD. And that I do enjoy being able to swallow painlessly. Thank you, body. Stupid immune system!

Ahhahhhahhhhaaaa! I cannot stop laughing! There I am, minding my own business, looking up gay porn on amazon.com, when I find a book called "Ransom" by "Lee Rowan". Gee, I think to myself, there's a Hornblower fic I read all the frikkin' time called Ransom! Luckily I saved it to my computer, for it disappeared off the archive site (Rum, Sodomy and the Lash) in which it resided. And then I think: Wow, the plot of this book sounds just like the fic! Three naval officers get kidnapped and two of them are slashy and one of them makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his friend ... heh, I love that story. And then I notice that I can read the first 5 pages of the book, thanks to spiffy technology! AND THEN I GO WTF THIS IS ACTUALLY RANSOM WITH THE NAMES CHANGED LOLZ!!!1I am so buying that book. Not only is it Ransom, but Archie is called Davy Archer instead, and I can't stop giggling at the idea of Calypso's Ransom disappearing to be *published* - and the Indy, funnily enough, is renamed the Calypso in this book! Not only is it all of that but in those first few pages I saw stuff that had been added in that made it even better! Oh dear lord. I'm laughing far too much for a still-ill person. But really. I want this book!

Eeeeek! Lookit this! It's not finished - only about a third of them, or maybe half, are put up - but it was too cool not to have. This was so totally worth sacrificing sleep and/or revision time for. *points at CUSTOM MOOD THEME of the coolness that is Andrew Wells*
Sat, Jan. 27th, 2007, 07:38 pm
I have a paid account now! Finding fun userpics and planning the Andrew Wells Moodtheme I'm making is much more fun than revision, to be honest. Aaaaaaand nothing else is very interesting. I was just buzzed at the shiny. And will now go and rinse my mouth out with anti-Buffyspeak.

Ugh. I fell down the stairs yesterday and sprained my ankle; let me tell you that doing something like that isn't very conducive to the revision. (Watching Buffy, and laugh at Xander asking Buffy what is wrong. "You look like you've just been diagnosed with cancer of the puppy.") The exam today was all right, but not so bad. The exam tomorrow will suck, though, a large and undeniable amount!

OMG, Sims 2 Pets is so amazingly cool. The cats are adorable and Nathaniel Aplin-Fletcher, cute-as-a-button kid, owns a golden retriever called Tyrson. (Yup, from Tyr. Because Helmson didn't really work!) It absolutely rocks. I'm quite glad I'm managing to revise some at the same time as playing it because if I couldn't revise at the same time ... I wouldn't want to stop anyway!

sitting in boldrewood with a friend whilst she finishes her nutrition essay. I'm going to hand mine in soon. Thank god. Yesterday was Mage and it was extremely fun; Halim came over the day before that. Two bouts of socialising in one weekend makes me feel a lot more normal. I think I'm just feeling lonely and that's what makes me upset when I try to sleep. I'm having lots of ideas for the newest story I've been trying to write. How to fix a fantasy story that won't get written: -Turn the main character from a girl to a boy. No major characterisation alterations needed. They just need to be male. -Turn it from 3rd-person perspective flitting around to 1st-person less-flitting. Three people in the first half. Maybe four in the second half. 1st person perspective for the win. it's strange my preoccupation with men and how much easier they are to write. I've steeled myself and one of the three perspectives will be from a woman's point of view. (Girl's. Young adult's. She's highly intelligent and looking for a cure to the plague. Go her.) Bioavailability is AUCoral/AUCiv X DOSEiv/DOSEoral. F. dependent on 1st-pass metabolism. amount of drug in general circulation as parent compound. OKIvegotthat. Now what is clearance?

buffy, buffy, buffy, buffy, buffy, it's buffy time! Well. No prizes for guessing what I've been doing since 1.30pm today. (The answer is watching Buffy season 7, thankyou, and I am now up to disc 5. A special someone from LA (and another special someone from Firefly) is about to turn up, and I'm feeling like a breather.) And it's fun. I had forgotten how much I like this season. It's also an extremely strange feeling to not have any work to do. Me? Doing free-time-stuff when I actually *have* the free time in which to spend it? (Thank you, preposition, to the middle of the sentence I send you!) It seems like I always find stuff to worry about though. Ugh. I've decided I'm going to make an Andrew Wells moodtheme. Because there is not enough Andrew in the world, and it is the perfect excuse for finally getting a paid account. I've been snapping pictures of him all throughout the episodes and have 157 pictures to start off with. (Okay. Maybe I got a little carried away there. It's only a third of a gigabyte of Andrew pictures.)
